Summer Learning Journey Day 2 Activity 1

Today I have to wright what are two similarities between my house and a wharepuni and also what are the differences between them as well.

The similarities: My house has a roof and so dose the wharepuni
My house stands up tall and dose not collapse on me when I sleep

The differences: I have lots of rooms in my house
lot of people stay in the wharepuni.

Summer Learning Journey: Day 1 Activity 3

Today I did the bonus activity for day 1 of the Summer Learning Journey. For this activity, we needed to watch a video of the Waka Ama race. We needed to say in our blog post whether we would like to do it, and why.

Here's my answer:
I would enjoy this type of race. It gets you outside, and includes a lot of strength. The reason on why I would love to do something like this is because I love Kayaking, and this race shares a lot of similarities to it.

Summer Learning Journey Day 1 Activity 2

Today we have to pretend that we are on one of the Wakas that voyaged to New Zealand.

We have been traveling for days I am nervous and existed to go to the new countries we have been traveling for a very long time and it is a very small waka I can belly get any sleep you do not want to travel on a waka. We have taken to many people I hope we make bigger wakas .

Today we had to find three facts about Maui on a website called Maui and the giant Fish the fish was a sting ray and after Maui left the brothers started carving and hacking at Maui's fish

Kiwi Sport

This week at Kiwi Sport we learnt a new show off move, for it we had to place the shuttlecock on the racket and then try to turn the racket the other way around without dropping the shuttlecock onto the ground. We also played octopus and did some singles and doubles ins and outs.

This is our plan for the

Idea:

The idea is to create a game show video, with presenters, contestants, and bonus rounds. There will be a spinner with both of the contestants names, one of them being bigger than the other. A pencil will be pointing towards the spinner, and when it stops spinning, the person that the pencil is pointing at has to do a challenge. There will be another spinner with 5 challenges instead of names, the hardest being the biggest, to the easiest being the smallest. The same rules apply, there will be a pencil pointing, the spinner will stop spinning, and whatever challenge it lands on, the chosen person will do that challenge. If they succeed on that challenge, they will be given a number of points depending on the challenges difficulty, and how well they performed it. Whoever the spinner chose, that person is the only one to do a challenge. If it lands on the contestant, then the presenter can’t spin the challenge wheel for them to attempt to complete. Whoever it lands on, they are the only one who has a chance to win. However, if someone fails a challenge, then the other player can take that challenge for themselves to complete for the points to win.

Details:

Some extra details are that Alex will be the first and last presenter. Julian will be the second presenter, and Jack will film and edit the game show. All group helpers (A.K.A Alex, Jack and Julian) will be contestants, and have the higher chance of being picked / win. Our game show name will be Wheels and Challenges. Alex is going to be the presenter for each video, and the presenter is also the one that the contestant has to compete with. Jack will be director and editor for each video, but will also be contestant for second video. Julian will be contestant for each video, but will have the higher chance once like Alex and Jack. Each player has 5 seconds to 1 minute depending on the challenge.

Character Roles:

Jack will be director and editor and second video game contestant

Alex will be game presenter game contestant

Julian will be the main game contestant for round 1 and 3

Jump 5 times in 3 seconds

Challenge 5: 4 points

Touch every wall in the room in 5 - 15 seconds. (Again, depends where we record)

Christmas Poem

Twas the night before Christmas when all through the house. Not even New York could hear the sound of a mouse.

The sky was dark and so was my head because I did not want to go the bed. They said “ you have one more chance to be good to your parents your not a dumb boy so stop acting like Clarence” I went to bed in a very big hurry just like I have eaten a large portion of curry.

The mistletoe was on top of the door when Santa had entered he look so poor with a ragged old hat and his sandals look bitter but at least he tried but he just looked like litter.

There was no words to describe how I feel I’ll try and be nice he looks like beel it’s a little kid who is srooed in the head Santa is not real i'm sorry for that but he's just a fairy tale so your not a brat.

Thanks for reading I ruined your Christmas if you don't believe me ask your parents. I’m sorry for that I spoiled the fun goodbye to all and to all a good night. Before i leave I’ll say this once.

That's My Money

LI: To manage finances and profit.

Today and the previous days we have been doing maths and for maths we have to save up our money to win a prize so the person with the most money will win and the winner gets the prize. It is a learning process we earn the money by getting work done like prototec and for prototec we have to get ether 90% and over. We can also do a daily task sheet.

after we do some work we get payed for our work. We get payed the same amount of money but we also get to do other things to get more money.

Kiwi Can

This week at Kiwi Can we learnt more about respect and played some games. For one game we had to form a circle while someone stood in the middle with a cone, that person then had to protect that cone by only using their hands and everyone else had to try and knock the cone down with a ball. The next game we played was one where we had to get into two teams and each team took turns chasing the other team inside a rectangle made from cones, the only rule for it was that we weren't allowed to move with the ball until later when they changed it to only two steps. The last game was also a team one, for it each team had to build a tower out of things provided. We then had to try and get a ball and with that ball we had to try and knock the other team's tower down.

Kiwi Sport

This week at Kiwi Sport we played a warm up game, did rallies and had one vs ones and two vs twos. The warm up game we played was stuck in the mud, for it the two taggers had to go around tagging everyone and if someone was tagged they'd have to stay in the spot until someone set them free. For the rallies I partnered up with Jack and together we turned it into a see who can hit it further contest. When we did the two vs twos I partnered up with Jack again and together we managed to win most of our games.

LI: To illustrate a narrative
This week for Mr Ogilves writing group we had a bit of fun. We first had to get into 3 groups. In my group there were Liane and Julian.We had to first think of a Alien Boys name and a Alien Girls name. Once we done that we had to say it out loud so then everyone could hear us. Mr O got to choose which one is the best.The name for the boy was Umm and the name for the girl was Florb.Then we had to decide of a pets name and a pet.Mr O thought the best was Broly and he was a Giant Slug.Soon we had to think of the problem and there Mr Ogilve could think of a solution. In our groups we had to write 1 paragraph on a big piece of paper. We had to give our paper around our group. You can't be able to have your one back. Once we did that we had to do an illustration on the story that made the sense.In my group my story made sense the most. But with our illustrations we were not able to make it sense.
