“Come on let’s go” I shouted to my team because we were doing a scavenger hunt yesterday at school. Man we were tried.   Helping each other was  lots of fun. What was even better was Trying to do all the obstacles and we never gave up. We tried over and over again. In the activates we had to collaborate we tried our best to collaborate with each other. We managed to work together to the end. We tried to make a daisy chain and Tricia was fantastic at it. We had to do cartwheels that's when I came in. We had to measure the court Ellenora was perfect for that and karlos spotted our last activities. We had to take a picture of an oblong then we went to the library and my group picked a 3 Geronimo Stilton books and 3 goosebumps books just for the titles. The last thing we had to do was run around the court twice.

Mythical Narrative

The Centaur and the Pegasus and Hydra Head

Once up a time there were three mischievous friends called Matthew,Karlos and Julian. They went camping at High Gate Forest. There were a lot of trees there.

On a cold night they heard a loud sound. They could not see through the trees because it was like a crowd around the H&M dress outlet  when it first opened. We got out of my tent and ran behind one of the trees and a stick touched me. I stretched like a girl .Then we went to have a look at the weird stranger. We wanted to run  for our lives but we  just stared at him curiously. Then this  big friendly Pegasus saw us through the sky and a musclely Centaur  bust out of the cliff. A hydra head swished in the sky .The man spoke some strange words. It sounded like this, “alada galatta suffusa calada.” He summoned a god who looked like Hades but mixed in with all the other god’s. As I was distracted by the god, the stranger was gazing at me. Next a bang of lightning bolt struck the three of us.

Before we knew it, we ended up in our beds. When I woke up we had animals waiting outside our tents. Matthew had a ferocious Centaur. Matthew called it Bull Man. Karlos had a pegasus called Jackson and I Julian had the Hydra Head whose name wasScreenshot 2016-11-11 at 10.26.00 AM.pngScreenshot 2016-11-11 at 10.28.38 AM.pngScreenshot 2016-11-11 at 10.26.47 AM.png

Before they leave they eat heaps and get fat. This fat is the fuel it uses for long flight. The Godwits leave Alaska when the weather begins to cools off and they arrive in NZ in September.
Matthew and his mum went to the Zoo. Matthew saw 57 monkeys and his mum saw 65 Meerkats. How many animals did the see altogether?

U: These are the important numbers and words in the question:     57, 65 and Altogether

P: The important word that gives me the clue which operation to use
     Altogether means I will add [ + ]

S: I will solve the problem by using Place Value
7+5=12 Give the 10 from the 12 to the 50 to make 60.

These are 5 facts about Beluga Whales.

Beluga whales are the smallest species of whale, but males can still grow up to 5.5 meters long and weigh up to 1,600 kilograms, which is still pretty big.
They are found in large groups of up to several hundred in the ice cold Arctic waters of Northern                                              Russia, North America, Greenland and Norway.
To protect themselves from the cold, they have a layer of blubber that is 15 centimeters thick.
Every summer, large numbers of Beluga Whales gather in shallow waters to shed their skin.  They rub themselves on gravel to remove the old yellow skin and reveal a new shiny white coat underneath.                                                                                                                                                Beluga whales can live for a very long time, with some scientists estimating that they can live for up to 50 years.  Beluga Whales can swim backwards
I was most fascinated to learn that. Beluga Whales can swim backwards.

Olympic Rings

*The rings are the continents.

*The ring are linked together to show unity.

*Antarctica is not part of the Olympic rings.

*North and South America form one ring.

*The colours represent the colours of the different countries’ flags.

                                                                                                                                                                              * The Olympic Games take place every 4 years

Orienteering

L.I : I was learning to read a map to help me find the controls. This term I learnt orienteering. On the map there was a code of numbers and letters. Beside each letter was a clue to help me find the control.

Self reflection. I  mostly used the map when I was lost or when I couldn’t  find the controls.  I needed to use the map more often. Next time I do orienteering I will remember to point the map North and find the controls by READING THE MAP.
